Collaborative System Design

Collaborative System Design is an essential process for enriching systems to be responsive, outcome-driven, fair, equitable, and efficient. At JMI, we use a collaborative approach that involves leaders, managers, practitioners, users, and community members to define the elements of a system, its interfaces, data, and touch points. This approach allows us to increase the collaborative, synergistic work of the system, resulting in improved outcomes for the community.

Research and Evaluation

Research and Evaluation is a process of systematic inquiry and assessment, relying on data and information collection, analysis, and interpretation. The research and evaluations conducted can assess system operations and workload and test hypotheses about factors that drive effective systems. This process strengthens justice systems by applying outcomes that work, responding to cultural and legal issues, and addressing both systemic and episodic problems.

Our work includes both workload assessments, an emerging focus for many justice systems, and true evaluation.

Practice Development and Education

Practice Development and Education is targeted support to address a concern and build capacity of an organization or system. JMI provides this by learning the unique needs of the community, analyzing specific issues and opportunities, and determining new outcomes for the justice system and community.
