CasePro Network
The CasePro Network was created by JMI, under funding from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC). The goal of the network is to bring together jurisdictions to address criminal case processing challenges to improve justice system outcomes. The network is designed for prosecutors, judges, and defense counsel as well as other justice professionals with an interest in improving case processing.
Network members have access to virtual and in-person mini-institutes organized around key elements of effective case processing. Past institutes have focused on prosecutorial screening and filing practices, use of data in managing case processing, docket management practices, strategies for overcoming discovery delays stemming from digital evidence, and techniques for timely resolution of post-adjudication matters. The mini-institutes provide an opportunity for members to hear case processing success stories from their peers, to brainstorm and discuss common barriers to case processing improvements, and to ensure fairness and equity in case processing.
JMI also offers office hours, upon request, to network members to discuss the jurisdiction’s case processing challenges related to strategy implementation, resistance to case processing changes, and data and analysis.
